HOW IT WORKS

Most sunlight that reaches the Earth's surface is in the visible to near-infrared spectrum. At night, in the absence of direct sunlight, energy primarily comes from infrared radiation.

Innovative Absolute Solar™ cells utilize multijunction technology, combining materials of varying bandgaps to capture different portions of the solar spectrum—ranging from ultraviolet (UV) to visible light to infrared.*

*High-bandgap materials capture high-energy UV photons, while lower-bandgap materials absorb lower-energy photons from visible to infrared light.

While we do not disclose the proprietary combinations used in Innovative Absolute Solar™, the information presented here represent a sample of promising materials advancing the field of high-efficiency multi-junction solar cell technology, with an emphasis on safety and non-toxicity.
